All the stuff is still lurking (if such prominent piles can lurk), there are still wedding details to be sorted out, and I might melt in the heat, but things are pretty good.
We went to the farmer's market this morning, and got blueberries and zucchini and lettuce, and lots of other things with double letters. No tamales for sale this morning though, which was terribly sad. I chose some flowers at the market to do a test run of my flower arrangements, they look so good! I think I have a better idea of what needs to be done, so we just need to talk to the florist at the market to see what she will have available in Sept. and find other sources if necessary. I tore up atlas and encyclopedia pages and tied them to the recycled beer bottles (tops cut off and edges finished with copper tape, thanks Barb!) with some lovely waxed twine. I promise that this is really colorful and elegant, and not weird and tacky like it sounds! There will be small orangey-yellow and white flowers in those, and in the wine bottles there will be some kind of lovely papery white flowers. We tried cosmos today, but they are a bit too leggy. Oh, and ferns somewhere in there because I am a bit in love with ferns at the moment.
Concentrating on the details that make me happy helps the other stuff seem less difficult.
