doubt

Driving home today, with the hospital smell still clinging to my clothes, the No Doubt song "Don't Speak" came on the radio.  When I first heard this song a few years ago I scoffed at the lyrics, particularly the line "don't tell me 'cause it hurts." Being a fairly analytical person, I assumed that one needs all the information to respond appropriately.  If someone is leaving you, or ill, or otherwise in a situation to hurt you, intentionally or not, you need to know everything about it.  I'm not sure I believe this anymore.  Some kinds of pain need to be avoided if we are to stay sane - Or perhaps comfortably insane.  Over-thinking reactions, as I am wont to do, runs the risk of doing more internal damage.  Sometimes it is enough to try to react with as much love as possible, no matter how unfair the situation or how much you feel like the victim.

I sill don't like the song tho.
